Who Turns Up
Call 14252254501 and you get someone who works on doors for a living, not a call center reading a script. Tell them what the door is doing - won't open, slams the last foot of the track, opener runs but nothing moves - and they'll ask a few questions before they ever quote a job. If it's a spring or cable problem, they'll tell you that over the phone, because those parts fail the same way on most of the 1980s-era homes in this area and the diagnosis is usually quick.
Our shop is at 16325 5th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. You're welcome to come by, but most jobs start with a phone call so the right parts are on the truck before anyone drives out. We work on torsion springs, extension springs, openers, rollers, cables, and track - the parts that actually break on a garage door, not a general handyman list.
One limit worth stating plainly: we don't do new garage construction or framing work. If a door needs a wall opened up or a header rebuilt, that's outside what we take on, and we'll say so instead of taking the job and farming it out.
The area
The Areas We Cover
Shoreline sits in a cluster of close-in communities north of Seattle, and that's where the work is. We cover Lake Forest Park and Haller Lake, both about 2 miles out, along with Woodway and Mountlake Terrace at roughly 3 miles. Broadview and North Seattle, also around 3 miles, are regular stops, as are Edmonds and Brier at about 4 miles, plus Lake City and Northgate close behind.
Farther out we still run calls in Kenmore and Alderwood Manor (5 miles), and out toward Martha Lake, Picnic Point, Indianola, and Kingston at around 8 miles. Lake Stickney, Medina, Bainbridge Island, Mukilteo, Suquamish, and the Maltby, Silver Firs, Cottage Lake corridor fall between 9 and 12 miles, with Cathcart, Keyport, Poulsbo, Clinton, and Mercer Island a bit beyond that. On the long end, we'll take jobs in High Bridge, Union Hill-Novelty Hill, Snohomish, Silverdale, Manchester, and White Center, up to about 17 miles out.
If your street isn't in that list, call anyway - distance alone doesn't rule a job out, it just means we'll tell you straight whether it makes sense for us to come.
What we find
Straight Answers
Most of the housing stock in this service area went up between 1965 and 2001, with the median build year around 1985, and that matters for repairs. A lot of those original openers and torsion setups are past the point where parts are still common, so a repair call sometimes turns into a straight conversation about whether fixing an old unit is worth it versus replacing it.
The climate band here is cold-moderate, not the extreme swings some regions deal with, but winter damp still finds its way into unsealed tracks and un-lubricated hardware, which is the single biggest cause of noisy, sticking doors we see across the 41 named areas we work in.
On cost: we don't publish a flat price list because spring size, door weight, and opener age change the number, but whoever answers the phone will give you a real estimate before a truck leaves. We're not going to pad an invoice to match what a neighbor's house needed - every door gets priced on what's actually wrong with it.
Questions
Common questions
What's the fastest way to reach someone?
Call 14252254501. That's the direct line, not a dispatch queue, and whoever picks up can usually tell you what's likely wrong before you hang up.
Do you cover my street if I'm outside Shoreline itself?
Probably. We run regular calls from Lake Forest Park out to Snohomish and Silverdale. Call and give your address - if it's outside our range we'll say so instead of booking a trip that doesn't make sense.
Can I just stop by the shop?
Yes, we're at 16325 5th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. Most repair jobs still start with a phone call so we bring the right parts, but you're welcome to come in.
My opener is original to the house - is it worth fixing?
Depends on age and what's failed. A lot of homes here date to the 1980s, and some original openers are old enough that parts are hard to source. We'll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense than another repair.
